| The Art Department
has always been a bit of an enigma in the world of film and television
production. Everyone knows we are there but very few really
understand what we do. Yes, the Art Department is responsible for
generating all of the cool drawings and designs that everyone loves looking
at...but we (Art Directors) are also responsible for overseeing a large
group of people who help turn those drawings into reality. We are
Artists, Architects, Managers and Estimators. We are often the first
people on a project and we are responsible for solving the problems of other
departments before they even know they have a problem.
